"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

put on a brave face
I don't even really know what to say. Maddox starts Pre-K this Friday and with as nervous as he is I'm 100 times more nervous! Tonight we had Maddox's "meet the teacher" night! First thing this morning, Maddox said he "wasn't going" and very stubbornly crossed his arms and stuck out his lip...but the more we talked about it all day the more he wanted to go! He did such a great job too! He walked right in and said hi to his teacher (she gave him candy so I think that helped!) and then he met the teacher's assistant who will be working in his class! It was funny because the teacher's assistant, her name is Mrs. Badgett, stuck her hand out attempting to shake Maddox's hand and instead he gave her a high five! She played along though and Maddox was proud of himself for being brave and polite! Maddox's teachers name is Mrs. Johnson. She is very nice and I think after tonight Maddox is a bit more excited to start Pre-K!
When we first arrived in the classroom Maddox located his cubby!
And then found the fingerpainting center! He CAN'T WAIT to fingerpaint!

After exploring the classroom a bit Mrs. Johnson told us that we could check out the playground too! Maddox was pretty excited about that!

I'm still at a loss for words about the fact that my baby is starting school. Sure it's only half day but the very fact that he's going to school at all is just proof that time is flying by and he is growing up. Very sad. I'm not sure what I'll do the morning I drop Maddox off at school. Probably sit in my PJ's and gorge myself on a gallon of ice cream...sigh. Maddox's teacher did give each mom a little gift today, though. It was a baggy with a tissue and a tea bag in it! She said it was for use after dropping our little one off at school! I think I'll definitely be using both!
