Ashtyn is six years old and has not once had a single opinion about what he does or does not want to wear...not yet anyway! I just pick out his clothes for him each morning and he puts them on almost unaware that he even can have an opinion at all! Maddox, on the other hand, has had his very own fashion sense for quite some time now! I use the term "fashion sense" loosely, though, because Maddox's fashion choices ONLY include one thing...ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING STAR WARS!! He wants to wear Star Wars t-shirts every day and I'm sure if they made Star Wars jeans he would want to wear those too! Last winter, I found these Star Wars themed socks at Target and bought a few pair. Since spring the socks have all been buried at the bottom of the sock drawer as really no socks have been worn for months! A couple of days ago, though, I reorganized the boys drawers and so these crazy themed socks resurfaced and needless to say Maddox found them! Why he had to find them on Sunday morning I'm not really sure...but he did! He came out of his room wearing only his underwear and proudly displaying his discovery (he was only holding the socks at that time). I told him that it was too hot to wear socks and to put them back in the drawer. He stuck his lip out, went back to his room and reappeared a few moments later WEARING the socks! He stubbornly told me he WAS wearing his Star Wars socks to church. I told him that it was way too hot for socks and once the weather cooled off he could wear them but today he had to wear flip flops. Maddox then announced that he would just wear the socks WITH his flip flops...oh my. Well, we battled for quite some time over "the socks". I eventually won but take a look for yourself. Maddox definitely has a stubborn streak in him to say the least...oh and, of course, his very own fashion sense too! HA!!
