First things first on day two of vacation, or actually our first full day of vacation, THE TOOTH FAIRY FOUND OUR CABIN!! Forget the fact that it took us a half hour to find it, the tooth fairy had no problem whatsoever!! When Ashtyn woke up bright and early (actually I think it was still dark! Ha!) he was excited to find a dollar underneath his pillow!! Now, I'm going to confess that THIS tooth fairy actually wanted to leave quite a bit more money for my oldest baby's first lost tooth but the fairy received some very good advice from older and wiser tooth fairies (with more experience) that with each lost tooth Ashtyn will expect the same amount if not more and so we started small! One dollar it was! But Ash didn't care. He just couldn't for the life of him believe that the tooth fairy had found him and remembered him and left him a WHOLE dollar!!

After breakfast we suited up and headed to the lake!! It has been such a HOOOOT summer and of all times for it to rain and cool off a bit it did it while we were on vacation. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the somewhat cooler temps but the day we arrived at the cabin it rained and then on day two it was overcast and looked like it could rain at any moment. Needless to say, because of the cloudy sky the lake water felt COLD!! We really wanted to jump right in and swim but believe it or not the water was downright frigid!! So, after dipping our toes in the icy waters we decided to rent some pedal boats first and have some fun ON the lake instead of IN the lake!!

Noni and Aunt Beck rode together...

April and Lauren rode together...

and, as you can probably tell, Maddox refused to ride. You would think that Maddox would be the go getter when it comes to anything athletic or daring and really when it comes to most anything he is...but not water! For some reason he is very cautious around the water and he takes his time to get used to any and all water activities. At first, Brandon and I were actually able to coax him onto a boat but then (of course) the boat we got him onto had to break when we had already pedaled out into the lake and another boat had to come push us back to shore. So, after that, Maddox was scared and stubbornly refused to get back on to any other boat.

So, instead, Papa took Ashtyn out on his pedal boat but only used half of their alloted time and then came back to the dock to let Brandon and I use the rest of their time for a float around the lake while he and Maddox shared snow cones safe and sound on dry land!

The pictures tell the whole story! I almost feel jealous. Y'all had so much fun.
I have worked with children almost my entire life and I STILL do not understand some of their thinking processes! But I think you are right about being tough for Uncle Tyler!
