"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

SELL OUT or BUST!!!!
This weekend the state of Oklahoma district had a youth event in Tulsa called Convergence. It's a 2-day retreat where youth from all over the state come together for worship, preaching and just plain fun! It's also a venue where different christian colleges and masters commission programs set up booths to promote their organization and try to recruit young people. It's a great weekend! This year over 2,000 students showed up! We took this opportunity to set up a Pray4Gray booth to further spread Grayson's story and also to sell as much Gray Gear as humanly possible. We knew that we could raise alot of money for the Everaard family while also sharing Gray's amazing story with even more people who can in turn share it with even more people when they return home! Our one true hope is to get as many people praying for Grayson as we possibly can! The t-shirts are great, the money raised is awesome but prayer is our ultimate goal! Saturday morning of Convergence Doug, Grayson's dad, shared Gray's story from the platform with everyone in attendance and, needless to say, you could have heard a pin drop in the auditorium. Tears were flowing and I don't think there was one person who wasn't moved in some way by Grayson's story. Over the weekend, we nearly completely SOLD OUT of Gray Gear!!!! We came home with less then 10 adult sized t-shirts and zero necklaces!!!! It was so exciting!!!! The total amount of money raised hasn't come in yet but I know it was in the thousands of dollars!!!! I'm so humbled and honored to be a part of Pray4Gray and think it's the least I can do to write a few simple website posts and sell t-shirts. If there was a way I could physically do more, I most certainly would.
Now, to change the subject for a quick moment. Sorry April, but I just have to share this story!! Convergence officially starts Friday evening but an entire crew of people including media guys, a sound company, lighting men, worship team and leaders show up Friday morning to set up and organize before any youth groups arrive. So, the district buys everyone lunch on that day and this year they ordered sandwich trays from a local Wal-Mart. Well, for some reason the Wal-Mart didn't have our order ready (or even started) when two volunteers arrived to pick up our order and so they had to stand in Wal-Mart and wait over 45 minutes while the deli employees put together sandwich trays to feed 50 people!! After all that chaos and such a long wait, it was a relief to see the volunteers pull up to the convention center! We were all STARVING!!!! Well, in a rush one of the girls unloading the sandwiches grabbed a tray and began speed walking down the hallway toward the green room where everyone would be fed. Suddenly, we hear a crash and a huge gasp...yep, that's right, the sandwich tray slipped from her hands and crashed all over the lobby floor. The lid to the tray even came flying off leaving the bread, meat and cheese scattered all over the tile floor!!!! It had been a long day already, and it was only lunch time, but what could you really do at that point?? We all just burst into laughter before sitting down on the floor and scooping heaps of sandwich ingredients back onto the lidless tray. Oh well!!!! It definitley made for a hilarious memory!!!! Thanks for the laugh April!!!!

Im laughing about the lunch "issues" and I wasn't even there!
I am THRILLED that so much GrayGear was sold. I wondered if Doug would say something to the convention-goers. Now Grayson has even MORE prayers bombarding heaven on his behalf!!!!!
Poor April! I'm glad it brought some much needed laughter to a very stressful day though!!
Dirty sandwiches never tasted so good! I just laugh thinking how much of a stress reliever that mishap was and then laugh more picturing us sitting around that table eating those sandwiches! Aahhh, bless God!
