"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

always be my baby!
My babies will always be just that...my babies!! I know they are only 7 and 5 but it truly seems like just yesterday they were infants in a crib and I was dressing them up in cute little baby blue outfits. Kids grow up WAY too fast. This week, my boys were headed to Ponca City to visit their Noni and Papa for the weekend by themselves and they were REALLY excited! They didn't sleep very well the night before they left and on the day they were headed to Ponca City I made them lay down for a nap so that they would be well rested for their visit. Ashtyn fell asleep quickly but Maddox had a hard time laying still. Eventually, I held him in my arms. I held him infant-style with his head on one arm and his legs laying across the other. It felt good to hold him like this even though he's five years old and a big five year old at that! As he was laying there in my arms I began signing to him a slow praise and worship song that I used to sing to him when he was a baby. I sang through the song several times and before I knew it I looked down and Maddox was out!! Awww!! I was so happy to see my little baby boy asleep in my arms knowing that my singing a simple song had quieted and stilled him. He's such a sweety. I love both my baby boys oh so much! And, like I said, I'll always call them my babies no matter thier age!
