Camp Cousin Day #2 came kind of early. We had plans to go the kids summer movie at the Poncan Theater and needed to leave the house by about 9:45. Auntie Rae got up early, though, and made us a yummy breakfast of waffles and bacon!! It was so good!! While us grown ups finished getting ready the kids played cards with Auntie Rae. Maddox and Elia made a good team at Go Fish!! They're so much alike that it's almost scary!!
After the movie, we picked up some fast food lunch and took it back to Auntie Rae's house where Gramma Pennie and the kids had built a homemade living room tent out of table cloths and clothes pins! It was really cute and fun to eat under! It didn't last too long, though, because before too long the kids wanted to watch cartoons on TV and the tent was sagging further and further down until it no longer allowed us to see the TV! Uh Oh! Crisis! We took the tent down soon after that!! Ha!!
After our tent covered lunch, we had the kids lay down for an afternoon rest. We usually don't have the kids nap during camp cousin but since the boys had been at Noni and Papa's house the weekend before they were already exhausted and worn out...and since it's SO hot in the afternoon right now anyway we took advantage of the chance to rest. This was Ashtyn's "I'm so excited I get to take a nap!" face!! Ha!!
That evening, we had dinner at Auntie Rae's house! We had homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy and veggies! It was really really good!! There's nothing like good ol' comfort food!! After dinner, we made our annual puff paint camp cousin t-shirts that the kids will wear on Friday. Every year the shirts have turned out very...creative!! Ha!! It's amazing as each year passes how each kids personality is shown more and more through what they decide to put on their shirts...
All the kids shirts turned out really cute! Ash drew bakugans on his shirt and didn't use any puff paint whatsoever. He just made very maticulous and perfect drawings. Maddox drew bakugans and star wars characters and did some pretty cool splatter patterns with puff paint all over the front and Elia wrote her name and traced her handprint! Then we all gathered in the kitchen for dessert!! ICE CREAM CONES!! It was a great way to end day two!!
Even though we've had to spend much of Camp Cousin indoors, this year, we've still had alot of fun and made alot of memories! The kids have said some of the funniest things and we've laughed alot! Tomorrow, we're headed to Mustang for so much more fun!! Can't wait!!
