A couple weeks ago, on another HOT HOT HOT Saturday, we broke out the crafts!! I had found these create-your-own garden stones crafts at Michael's and picked up a couple of them on sale earlier in the summer and since it has been way too hot to go outside in the afternoons here in Oklahoma we decided it was as good a time as any to go ahead and make our own garden decorations!! First we had to mix the concrete to fill the garden stone molds...

After the concrete was in the molds, the boys used the small decorative pieces of colored glass that came with the craft to make their very own stones! Ashtyn made a sunshine on his stone and Maddox started out trying to make a Star Wars character (even though I told him that would be very difficult...) but in the end sort of just made a random design. He still claims, though, that there is a lightsaber in there somewhere!!

Ash got concrete on his fingers and thought it was pretty gross...!!! Ha!!! He's such a neat freak...!!!

We had to let the garden stones dry for 48 hours and then we placed them in our front yard garden, right ousdie our front door! It's nice to see those homemade stones each and everytime we leave the house or come back home!!

I love doing crafts with my boys but I know that as they get older they'll probably enjoy doing them less and less...so while they're still somewhat excited about them I'll keep buying them!!
