"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

Happy 4th of Halloween!?!?
This last Saturday, was the 4th of July in Mustang!!!! Huh!? Yep, you heard me right, it was the 4th of July!!!! On the REAL 4th of July, this summer, our entire state was under a burn ban because of our substantial lack of rain and so we weren't allowed to celebrate with fireworks...not even black cats or sparklers!! :( It was a pretty sad 4th of July really. Finally, though, this week our county lifted its burn ban and so our city scheduled a "make-up day" for blowing fireworks!! How fun!! I'll admit it felt weird to hear fireworks popping in the distance all day at the beginning of October but it was alot of fun too!! Unfortunately, we hadn't purchased any fireworks in July because we knew we were under a burn ban and didn't see it ending any time soon so we weren't prepared for this sudden re-do of the 4th...but we were excited to sit outside on the deck and watch everyone else's bombs bursting in air around the city. People were allowed to pop their fireworks until 11PM and we sat outside for a good half hour just watching the pretty fireworks on the streets all around us. Plus, it was WAY cooler then sitting out and watching fireworks in July!! Ha!! What a fun memory we made in the city of Mustang this weekend!!
