at least my toes were painted...

Last week I had a little accident. I was packing our family to go to Ponca City for the weekend and, of course, was running around the house like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get everything together before the boys got out of school. As I was walking (briskly) into my bedroom I stubbed my toe on the foot of an ottoman and it instantly made me stop and say OUCH!! I've stubbed my toe a billion times but this felt very different. At the moment, I didn't have time to deal with my aching toe so I just shook it off and kept moving so my family could hit the road!! We got all loaded up and drove to Ponca City and then immediately went out to eat with Brandon's family. My toe continued to throb all afternoon and evening but I just tried to push it from my mind and keep moving. Once we got back to Brandon's parents house I took off my shoe and sock and was SHOCKED to see that my toe was really super swollen and completely black and purple!! And I mean DEEP black and purple!! I've never seen something like that before!! I showed my mother in law and she confirmed that my toe was most definitely broken and helped me tape it. I asked if I should go to the doctor but she said there's nothing they can do for a broken toe besides tell you to keep it still so it can heal. Bummer. What was worse then the pain (or the nasty way my toe looked...) was the fact that we were out of town and had traveled to Ponca City for my sisters in law baby shower and so the only shoes I had brought with me to wear the next day were pointy toed, high heeled boots!! Yikes!! So, the next morning I crammed my toe into my boots and went with it. Almost nothing has felt so good in the whole wide world then when I got to take those tight boots off and relax my poor toe!! Ha!! Thankfully my toe is mostly healed now but it's amazing how much pain a little tiny toe can cause...!!!
