under the weather

Poor little Maddox has been sick all weekend. It started Friday evening. I took the boys to Target just before dinnertime to pick up a couple of things and while we walked around Target Maddox became more and more puny. He eventually sat in the buggy and laid his head down. If you know Maddox, you know that's NOT normal. He's the one usually touching everything on the shelves and asking if he can buy every toy in the store. Not on this trip. Maddox also began complaining of his head and neck hurting. Uh oh.

On Saturday, Maddox was up and down all day. He would act like he felt a bit better and get up and play but would wear himself out pretty quick and then sit down to rest. He also continued to run a temperature all day long. Saturday afternoon Maddox took a long nap. I was hoping that would cure whatever it was he had...but it didn't...

Sunday, Maddox and I stayed home from church.We hate missing church. Maddox was still running a fever and his aches were much worse. He took tylenol at about 8AM but was literally BEGGING for more at 11AM. I felt so bad for him. He still had to wait another full hour before he could have more meds but Maddox was clinging to his bottle of tylenol and refused to put it down. It was so sad and so hard to tell him no... :(

Sunday afternoon Maddox never really laid down for a nap...unfortunately. He felt miserable and was very cranky but he was just so tired of being "forced" to relax that he was refusing to be still...

Overnight Sunday, Maddox kept running a fever. He woke up in the night and we gave him tylenol at about 2AM. We kept him home from school today. Thankfully, though, Maddox hasn't run a fever since the last time we gave him meds in the middle of the night so it looks like he's finally getting well!!!! I'm so glad!! If he wasn't better by this morning we were going to call the pediatrician so I'm happy that he's feeling better. I still don't know what it was Maddox had but whatever it was I hope NO ONE ELSE in our house gets it...
