we honor you

The boys' school has class on Veterans Day but they hold a special assembly where they invite any and all veterans to the school for a special time with all the students! The kids learn several patriotic songs, including the National Anthem, and they honor our soldiers and veterans by singing to them and cheering for them and just making them feel special! It's very sweet! Both my boys did a great job learning the Pledge of Allegiance and a couple different songs! Ash wasn't too excited to perform his songs for mommy's camera but Maddox was MORE then willing! (Imagine that...!!!) I wish Maddox had really belted out the National Anthem, though! I've heard him do it in the shower or while playing in his room by himself and it's hilarious! He gets some of the phrases right but most of them are WAY off! Oh well! I just had to get this on tape! The boys are very well aware of what a soldier is and what they do. Obviously, Uncle Tyler, fought in the war and so they know he "fought the bad guys" and they know that soldiers are our heroes. I'm proud to raise my boys as patriotic Americans who love their country and honor those who have fought to make us free! We will never forget their sacrifice and we appreciate the lives that have been lost. God Bless America!
