cupcake-fest

On Saturday, we drove to Ponca City for Elia's 5th birthday party!! I can't believe she's already 5!! Elia had a cupcake themed birthday party and to kick things off all the kids decorated rice krispie treat cupcakes with frosting and candy!!

Ash decorated his krispie cupcake with frosting and gummy bears...

Oh!! And little brother Noah was proudly showing off at the party!!

All of the party goers were in the kitchen decorating cupcakes...

but Maddox was hiding in the hallway refusing to participate. He thought the party was too "girly" and wouldn't go in. Uncle Casey even brought him frosting and a cupcake into the hallway but Maddox would never do something that "girls" were doing!! Yuck!! (Ha!!)

After the cupcake decorating, Elia was ready to blow out her candles!! She looked so pretty!! We sang to her and then dug into the cake!!

 

Again, while all the other kids sat in the kitchen and ate their cake, Maddox took his dessert in the...you guessed it...HALLWAY!! There was just way too much pink and purple in the kitchen for Maddox to even think of entering!!

 

While the kids finished their cake, Rae read them a story, "When You Give a Cat a Cupcake"!! Perfect for the cupcake themed party!! The story was really cute...

Maddox scooted close enough to the kitchen to hear the story...but he wasn't going any further...

Then it was finally time for Elia to open her gifts!!

After presents, we played pin-the-candle-on-the-cupcake. Ashtyn loved it!!

Elia received flowers for her birthday and she was pretty proud of them!!

At the end of the party, Elia gave each of her guests an "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake" coloring book and a box of crayons. The boys also got to take home the cupcake they had decorated and some candy!! What a fun party!!

We hung out at Elia's party for awhile but then had to head home...as you can tell, we are all wearing OSU gear because today is not only Elia's 5th birthday party but it's also BEDLAM!! Happy Birthday to Elia and GO POKES!!!!
