The Tuesday night before Christmas, we went looking at Christmas lights as a family!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE looking at Christmas lights!! First, we went to the Christmas lights display in the park in Yukon. It never disappoints!! This display covers two public parks and has tons of extras!! You can take a train ride, meet frosty the snowman AND rudolph, park and watch a light display that moves to the music on your radio AND you can even get out of your car and walk most of the park's display!! It's so very cool and we absolutely love it!!
We didn't walk the entire park (it was SO cold!) but we did get out of the car to take a picture with the giant Christmas light tree!! (Sorry the pic is sideways...I couldn't get it to turn...bummer...but I think you get the picture...and if you look close you can see the boys standing in front of it!!) The boys danced around in front of the tree, jumped up and down and were just SO excited!! Their excitement was rubbing off on me and getting me even more excited then I already was!! I love Christmas as it is but with two little boys, seeing Christmas through their eyes, I love it even more!!
After we drove through both parks in Yukon, we went downtown to Chesapeake to see their lighted trees! We had never driven down there before. I've seen the lights featured on TV but had never seen them in person. Let me tell you...it's SO WORTH the drive downtown!! The trees are literally wrapped from the very bottom of the trunk to the very tippy top of each and every tiny branch!! And not only are they so meticulously wrapped but they also change color from time to time!! It's gorgeous!! I only wish that we had had time to go back again...
This pic is kind of blurry but it shows the trees changing from white to color one right after the other. Beautiful!!
We looked at lights for a couple of hours and I guess we wore the boys OUT!! On our way back to Mustang both of my boys fell asleep in the back seat. We weren't even out that late but they were so excited for Christmas (and we had had their class parties that afternoon) that they were just exhausted. I wanted to keep looking at lights but I knew we had to get home and get our babies in bed so they could go to school for their last day on Wednesday before Christmas break!! WE CAN'T WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!
