When we take down our pool for the fall and winter it leaves a giant square of dirt in our backyard where no grass grows. This spring, as the weather has warmed up early, the boys discovered a new use for this grass-less spot!! They turned on the water hose, gave the dirt a good soakin' and then PLAYED IN THE MUD!!!! They dug in the dirt, laid in the dirt and finally started taking a running start and slid through the mud getting themselves COVERED!! It was fun, though, and I'm sure if you asked them it was well worth it!!
"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

Awesome!
I remember cleaning up 3 girls who "played" in the mud ... at mud-bowl! The back patio was always covered in mud after hosing down 3 walking mud-chicks
