"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

halfway to old
On May 14th, Brandon turned...THE BIG 3...0!!!! Whoa!!!! Brandon is the only person I know who wants to get old and fat. In fact, he calls being 30 "half way to 60" and gets excited when he has to buy a size bigger in pants!! Good grief!! Anyway, I wanted to do something big and exciting for Brandon's 30th birthday but the timing didn't work out and so we had to postpone doing any sort of party or get together and instead simply went out to eat as a family to Crab Town. Brandon loves sea food but doesn't get it very often because Ash and I don't eat it but since it was Brandon's birthday it was Brandon's choice and, of course, he wanted crab and shrimp. Maddox was excited too!! He follows in his daddy's eating footsteps!! So, Ash and I ate chicken while Brandon and Maddox ate crab dripping in melted butter and we had a really good time!! We topped the evening off with cheesecake!! Happy 30th Birthday Brandon!! Here's to growing old and expanding waistlines!!
