never far

On Friday morning, we attended Gray's funeral service at our church. It was a tough day and certainly a day I prayed against ever having to happen but for reasons we may never understand God had other plans and He took Gray to heaven to be with Him. As of today, Gray has been in heaven for one week and I know that he is happy, healthy and waiting for us to join him! After Gray's beautiful service, we stayed to have lunch with the family and then released butterflies in memory of Gray and his love for all things outdoors! When we released the butterflies it was really neat because some of them hung around for awhile before flying away. They were landing on people and even landing in our hands and letting us hold them! It was really sweet and a wonderful way to end such a difficult day. Just like those butterflies, Gray might be gone from our sight but we will always hang on to our memories of him. He will never be far away.
