On Wednesday, our third day together, we went to Bricktown to see a movie!! The theater in Bricktown has a kids summer movie program where they play a different kids movie each week and for only fifty cents admission per movie you can see a movie on the big screen and eat popcorn for breakfast!! Haha!! It doesn't get any better then that!! And the movie starts at 9:45AM and so it actually IS popcorn for breakfast!! But hey...if you can't eat buttered popcorn that early in the morning when you're a kid then when can ya!?!?
I loved Elia's outfit today!! She's such a sweet girl!! And I'm not gonna lie...it's absolutely AWESOME to have another girl in the house when Elia visits!! I love doing her hair and picking out her outfits and matching bows. It's SO fun!!
Fun times at the movie!! I had hopes that Noah would nap through the movie but I quickly learned that Noah had other ideas in mind!! Ha!! He was very good, though. He actually watched the big screen for awhile and the only "incident" came when he pooped!! Yikes!! I juggled it all, though, and got Noah cleaned up without missing a beat. (Or not too big of a "beat" anyway...) I most definitely have a great appreciation for any mother of four now. You really do wish you had more arms and hands at ALL TIMES!!!!
After the movie we headed back home. It was raining that day so we couldn't swim but the kids had fun playing inside. Sweet Noah was in such a good mood!! I think he wants to stay at Auntie's house even longer...!?!? Right!?!?
Conversations with sister!! Noah pays such CLOSE attention to Elia!! You can tell he already looks up to her and loves her so much!!
OK...I know this might be wrong, but that evening I had to have some help while I got a few chores done and Noah just wasn't having it. Without any other grown ups in the house to lend me a hand I turned on some PBS Sprout cartoons and propped Noah up in his Bumbo seat. It didn't last super long but it gave me enough time to switch the laundry, get all the big kids in and out of the shower and simply pick up a little. Noah fussed a couple of times but he really did love the cartoon. I must say, though, that when a Barney commercial interrupted his cartoon he got VERY upset. He didn't like Barney at all. Hmmmm. I don't know what that's about but it looks like Casey and Rae may be saved from a childhood of Barney cartoons!! Ha!!
That night I had the roughest night with Noah of his entire visit. I think he was overtired, missing his mom and dad, missing his home and just plain 'ol mad at Auntie. He DID NOT want to go to sleep. I tried everything. Eventually I called Rae and I'm glad I did. She told me a secret trick to get him to calm down and it worked like a charm!! Mom's always know best!! Eventually, I got Noah to sleep and just had to take a picture for proof!! Whew!! He sure gave me a run for my money that night!!
On Wednesday, I had gotten a call from Rae that they would be leaving youth camp early due to some unforeseen water issues the camp was having. Instead of keeping Elia and Noah until Friday morning I would now be returning them to their mom and dad Thursday morning. I'll admit it...I was sad. On Thursday we were going to head back to the library for a music performance they were putting on but instead we had to take back the kiddos. Bummer.
