"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

bible man
While we were in Enid, visiting Great Gramma Anna, we took the kids to the mall and we stopped in the Bible Book Store to look for Maddox a new Bible. We got Ashtyn his first "real" Bible when he started first grade and now it's Maddox's turn!! As you can clearly see, he was VERY excited!! We wanted to wait until Maddox actually started first grade before we upgraded him from his toddler story Bible to his real Bible with chapters and versus but considering last week when he brought his toddler Bible home from church the cover had fallen off...we pushed up the purchase date a bit and, believe me, Maddox wasn't complaining. Maddox looked through nearly every Bible in the store and finally decided on a Bible for boys called "The Adventure Bible". It's a really cool Bible and something he'll be able to grow in to. The cutest part of it all is that over the last few days Maddox has literally sat down and "read" every single page!! OK...obviously, he didn't actually READ the whole Bible but he thinks he did and that's what counts. He turned each and every page running his finger across all of the lines of words and would randomly proclaim "I'M ON PAGE 894!!" or "NOW I'M ON PAGE 1237!!" He was so proud and we couldn't help but be proud of him too!! My boys are growing up so fast!!

He gave me such a HUGE smile when I asked him if he was getting ready to preach a sermon!
