"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

the mysterious blue slushy spill
I have to give a shout out to Sonic here in Mustang. The boys and I recently went there for a drink, on a hot day, after grocery shopping. The back of the van was full of Wal-Mart sacks and we were simply trying to get through the Sonic drive-thru as quickly as possible so we could get home and in out of the heat. After paying for our drinks, the sonic worker handed them through the window and I passed them back to the boys. Before all of our drinks even made it into the van I heard Maddox scream and then say "Oh Man!!" I looked back and saw Maddox's blue slushy in a huge pile all over the floor of the van!! Ugh!! Maddox WAS NOT happy. I have no idea how but somehow before even getting his straw into his drink Maddox had dumped his medium slushy all over. I didn't know what to do. When the Sonic worker came back to the window I simply stated what had happened and asked if I could order a second slush. I was going to pay for another one and everything. But the Sonic worker very kindly said she would simply make Maddox another slushy at no charge! Wow! I was very impressed and more then happy. I thanked her many times! When we got home I went to clean up the slushy mess in the backseat and realized that most of the spilled slushy had spilled onto an old Sunday School paper making it much easier to clean. I simply scooped up the slushy with the paper and carried it to the trash can leaving only a tiny bit to actually clean up off of the van floor. Thank goodness my van wasn't spotless that day or else I would have had a huge blue stain on my carpet! Here's to leaving Sunday School papers strewn across the van floor from week to week! You never know when they'll come in handy! Ha!
