toothless

Last Tuesday, July 31, Maddox lost his very first tooth! His tooth had been loose for about a month and we had tried to pull it once but it was still too snug. On this day, though, Maddox came up to me while I was in the laundry room and asked me if I would try to pull it again. I told him I would look at it and sure enough...his tooth was VERY loose! Maddox was excited! It only took one tiny tug and Maddox was less one itty bitty bottom tooth! He barely blinked as I pulled it out. What a big boy!

He's growing up way too fast...

We put Maddox's tooth in a baggy and then he put it under his pillow. He had a really hard time falling asleep that night wondering if and when the tooth fairy would show up! Thankfully the "tooth fairy" had some cash in her wallet but UNfortunately it was a $5 bill. So...in the spirit of taking one for the team, the tooth fairy's husband had to run to the gas station and buy a candy bar so that the tooth fairy would have a dollar to slip under Maddox's pillow!

That night Maddox wouldn't even put his head on his pillow. He wouldn't admit it but I think it was because he was worried the tooth fairy wouldn't be able to get to his tooth if he laid on it. He's such a thinker. Thankfully, though, the tooth fairy, in all her magic, was able to retrieve Maddox's tooth and replace it with some "monies"! You should have seen Maddox's face the next morning! He was PUMPED! I think he's already ready to lose his next tooth...
