"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

hand me downs
Last week I forced the boys to go thru their closets and try on all of their fall clothes before school starts. I say "forced" because it was literally almost torture (according to them anyway...) to pull themselves away from their video games long enough to try on a few pairs of jeans and sneakers. Finally, though, we dove into the pile and discovered that Maddox has PLENTY of jeans to start off the school year. Poor Ash has ZERO pairs. Other then that we only have to look for a few sweaters for Ash but that can wait until the weather cools off even more! Woohoo! It's amazing how some years you have to buy a ton of school clothes and some years you don't. But now that I've said that I'm sure I've jinxed myself and both my boys will probably wake up tomorrow having gone through a sudden growth spurt. Ugh. Here's hoping that's not true...
