It felt a bit odd that while Brandon and I were putting fall decorations in the front yard the boys were playing slip-n-slide in the backyard! Ha! Like I said, it was over 100 degrees and the boys had tons of energy so we had to do something to keep them entertained while wearing them out and there's no better way to do that then with a tarp, a hose and some dish soap! I may be wishing for fall but I think the boys are hanging on to every last drop of summer they have left...
"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

september summer
Yesterday, we decorated the yard for fall!!!! Sure it was 102 degrees outside but it's finally September and by-golly I was going to put out my fall decor! I put my scarecrow on the front porch, my pumpkins on the step and these three wooden pumpkin stakes in the front garden. I've been waiting MONTHS to put these pumpkins up. I bought them at a garage sale in the spring ALL THREE FOR $1!!!! I couldn't have been more excited about my purchase but then had to wait and wait and wait to use them...but the day was finally here!
