rain or shine

This Saturday the Oklahoma weather was a bit confused and thought it was May instead of October. The spring-like storms rolled in and it rained and stormed all day long. We stayed inside and watched football all day and our dinner plans were looking compromised as the rain continued into the evening. Brandon had been marinated a steak for hours and we were all looking forward to cooking it on the grill. I was starting to think we would have to change our plans but Brandon seemed confident that we could grill even in the rain. If he said he could do it then I believed him but when it was time to grill our steaks and it wasn't only raining but POURING with STRONG WINDS and a possibility of HAIL I wasn't so sure. Brandon pulled the grill up close to the back door of the house, though, grabbed my polka-dotted umbrella and ventured out in the rain to grill our dinner! Ha! I guess this is the modern day version of hunting and gathering for your family! Rain or shine Brandon can grill a mean steak and it was worth the effort in the end. Mmmmmm! I guess we have a new ending to the phrase, "You know you live in Oklahoma when..."
