"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

genetically gifted
Our Saturday's vary greatly around here. Sometimes we are super busy attending local events or attractions and other times we are lazy and stay in our PJ's all day. Sometimes we all do our own thing quietly in our own corners of the house and other times we do things as a family. This Saturday was a mixture of both and because of that I think it was perfect. The boys spent the morning cuddled in their own rooms watching their own movies. The house was dark, it was quiet, the weather was rainy and it made for the best Saturday morning we've had in a long time. As everyone's movies ended, though, the kids came out of their rooms to sit on the sofa with daddy. Of course, just "sitting there" isn't an option when you are 8 and 6 and so they had to do something. Soon, they decided they wanted to draw! They love to draw with their daddy! As all three of my boys sat on the sofa drawing together I couldn't help but snap a picture. Not only because it was a beautiful sight but because I'm glad there's something my boys love to do with Brandon. I think I'm the only one in the family who has no skill in drawing whatsoever and so the fact that they can do this with their daddy is awesome!
