"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

butterfly trends
My friend Jill makes the cutest jewelry! She doesn't have near the amount of time to do it that she would like but sometimes she gets on these "kicks" and makes tons of jewelry all at once. Of course, when she gets in the mood for creating jewelry I don't complain at all because I only benefit from her obsession! Ha! Recently, Jill gave me a new bracelet that I love so much! It is constructed out of scrap fabric pieces tied around a chunky metal bracelet with square faces spaced across it. Each metal face is decorated with a different look. This bracelet includes some faces covered in fabric and other in colorful beads and jewels. As I put the bracelet on, I noticed that on one face there were a variety of colored beads with a tiny silver butterfly among them! Beautiful! Recently, every piece of jewelry Jill has made includes a butterfly somewhere in the piece. An ode to Gray, of course. I love my new bracelet. Not only because of the butterfly or because my friend made it for me, but also because it is super cute! Thanks Jill!
