just keep listening, just keep listening

Ashtyn's occupational therapist recently prescribed "listening therapy" for him to do at home. I know, I know...it sounds pretty strange but we are willing to try just about anything. Ash is supposed to listen to a certain CD that contains calm elevator-type music twice a day for 30 minutes each time. He's not allowed to watch any screens while listening to his therapeutic CD but can play calmly with toys. We haven't gotten a true test of how this therapy may or may not help Ash because our weeks have been so busy that it's been hard to work into our schedule but the times we have tried it Ash seems receptive to it. He actually sorta dances to the music and sits very still while it's playing. Ash is such a sweet boy. I never thought I'd be giving my son listening therapy or, for that matter, having to take him to therapy just to get him to eat something other then chips but I'll do anything I can to help him. I hate seeing my baby go through something that I can't fix with one sentence or one kiss or one story. We know, though, that Ash is a very special kid and that God has big things in store for him...whether he ever eats a salad or not!
