with an oink oink here and an oink oink there...

One of our favorite parts of fall is going to Orr Family Farm! We've visited the farm in the summer before and while it's fun in any season nothing beats fall! The weather is nice and plus fall is the only time the farm sells homemade, hot kettle corn! Mmmmm! It's kind of a selfish reason to only visit the farm in the fall but, believe me, if you tasted it you would totally agree! Before we headed to the farm we met Uncle Casey, Aunt Rae, Elia and Noah at Crabtown for some lunch.

I got to sit by this handsome boy...and sneak him sips of sweet tea from time to time!

Maddox LOVES crab legs! And just as much as he loves to eat them I think he loves to tease his cousin with them too! She thinks their gross! Ha!

When we first got to Orr Family Farm we tried to take some cute pics by all of their fall decorations but the sunshine wasn't cooperating...so we moved on...

We did find one more place that we couldn't resist taking a photo though!

Then we headed into the petting barn. It was pretty crowded in there but we still managed to get in the cage with a goat, a sheep and a pig! We tried to pet the bunny but he was being shy...

The hay bale mountain is always a big hit! All it is is a giant stack of hay that the kids can climb but they have a blast on it every year! KING OF THE MOUNTAIN! (And princess too, of course...)

Check her pose!

Every year when we go to the farm they have added new attractions. Last year, they had started putting up these giant slides but they weren't nearly this long or high! The kids played here for quite awhile!

Noah couldn't go down the slides but he GREATLY enjoyed EATING the sand! Ha! His mom was mortified when she saw him eating dirt but I thought it was pretty funny! Sure, it was mostly because it made my sister so crazy but it was funny to see how Noah just kept taking handful after handful of sand and putting it in his mouth. I thought for sure once he tasted it he would be spitting it out and not putting anymore in...but NOPE! I think he may have actually enjoyed it!

Look at those kiddos! Cousins really are best friends for life!

Another new attraction was the horse corral! No, they're not real horses. They are actually inflatable, bouncy horses that you ride around in an enclosed grassy area of the farm. You have to watch this entire video to get the full effect! The kids were having fun but were having a bit of trouble figuring out how to best operate their horses...that is until Brandon stepped in to show 'em how it's done! Ha!

The jumping pillows are a lot of fun! The kids ended up playing on them for a long time!

Noah wasn't able to go on the jumping pillows by himself. Eventually, Casey took him on to help him a bit but he was having almost just as much fun watching his big sister and cousins jump to their hearts content. He's such a happy boy!

We had to wait in line a LONG time to ride the pedal cars but the kids insisted and they had a TON of fun! We could only do a couple of laps each because there was such a long line waiting behind us but it was fun while it lasted.

We finally decided it was time to do the main event! The Orr Family Farm hayride, corn maze and pumpkin patch! Woohoo! Love those happy smiles!

Noah had fun on the hayride too but he was starting to get hungry and sleepy...

When the hayride dropped us off we decided to do the corn maze first. The kids each grabbed a map and off we went. Now, let me tell you, going through a corn maze with three kids so close in age all of whom have very different opinions as to which way we should turn at each fork in the road is veeeeeery interesting! But it was a memory for sure and we had a lot of fun! Noah was the smart one and slept through the entire ordeal...

We survived the maze and made it to the pumpkin patch!

There was a mini maze set up on the other side of the pumpkin patch for smaller kids that had story cards scattered throughout telling you the story of the square pumpkin. The kids wanted to do it so Rae and I went through it with them while Ash read all of the story pages! He's so smart!

Our day was almost complete but we COULDN'T leave without getting our freshly popped kettle corn! Unfortunately, when we got to the gift shop they were sold out but we were told that someone would be popping more soon. We ended up having to wait for about 45 minutes for some corn to be popped but it was SO WORTH IT!!!! The kids played on the playground while Rae and I gave Noah a snack. What a great day!

I love family days! Spending a beautiful fall day outside with not just my own family but my sisters family as well makes for one memorable Saturday! Once we got home, however, my day was ALMOST ruined (I may be exaggerating a bit...) when Maddox dropped the bag of kettle corn and spilled a good portion of it all over the kitchen floor! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! NOOOOOO!!!! We weren't able to salvage the corn that was spilled but it's OK...we bought 4 bags! Ha!
