"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

hot, hot, hot...HOT CHOCOLATE
Ash did it when he was in first grade so now it was Maddox's turn! At the boys' school they have "Polar Express Day" for the first graders the day before Christmas break each year. The kids are allowed to wear their pajamas to school, they are given their own golden ticket to board the train and then they have to use that ticket to get into the gymnasium where a teacher reads them the Polar Express story and they drink hot chocolate! What a great idea! Maddox was excited leading up to Polar Express Day but then the night before he got extremely nervous to wear his PJ's to school. I'm not sure why. He's never been one who's too worried about what others think but after turning six he seems much more aware of what others are doing and what he should be doing as well. I told him that everyone else would be wearing their PJ's and even though I wasn't able to convince him 110% he did finally agree to wear his favorite Star Wars pajama pants with a Star Wars t-shirt. He's such a cutie! Of course, he ended up having a GREAT time and when he came home from school he said that indeed EVERYONE else was wearing their pajamas!
