"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

wings-travaganza
I love when my sisters visit! There's just something about having your family over that makes everything okay. You don't care that you're all crammed into bunk beds and on air mattresses, or that 8 people are sharing one bathroom! It seems unimportant to make sure everything is picked up at all times and the noise level just doesn't seem to effect you like it does at other times. When my sister Karianne and I get together we love to cook! Karianne graduated from culinary school and even though I don't have any professional training I love to learn new things about baking and cooking. It's my hobby to follow new recipes. On my sister's last visit, we decided it would be fun to try and make flavored wings just like Buffalo Wild Wings! I mean, why take our entire crew to BWW when we can just make them at home and eat while watching a movie!? We went to the store and loaded up on all the ingredients we would need and then did our best to follow the recipes we had looked up online. We made three different flavors; honey bbq, mozzarella and mango habanero! Mmmmmm! In the end, we were proud of ourselves and every single wing we made was devoured up...but let me tell ya, as much fun as I had cooking with my sister, I also discovered that I'm a firm believer in PAYING for my wings already cooked and covered in sauce served to me in a paper tray with a neat little side of ranch on top! WINGS TAKE FOREVER TO COOK AND TURN THE KITCHEN INTO A WAR ZONE!!!! By the time we prepped, cooked and cleaned my sister and I could barely eat any wings ourselves! Ha! The experience was fun and I'd gladly do it again with my sister's help and her company but next time I have a craving for wings I'll just drive the 20 minutes it takes me to get to Buffalo Wild Wings!!!!
