match made in heaven

On May 10th, my co-worker and FRIEND got married to the love of her life! Chelsea has worked with us at OYM for a couple years. We not only work great together but we have become fast friends. She is the most genuine, positive and easy person on the planet. I wouldn't want to work with anyone else! When Chelsea first moved to Oklahoma City she chose to go to North Church where she spotted a man named Josh. She went on and on and on (and on!) about him at work. Day in and day out all we heard about was JOSH! She even asked him over to her apartment to "fix her ice maker" as a ruse to try and get him to have dinner with her and her roommates! She's so sneaky!

After Josh proposed, Chelsea asked Jill to do the decorating for their wedding ceremony and reception and I was honored to do whatever I could to help. Let's be clear...JILL was the boss! This is ALL her! She will say it was both of us but it was her ideas and her hard work I was just waiting in the wings for direction on where to be and what to do! Jill swears every wedding she decorates will be her last but I truly think she's addicted to it! That's okay, though, because she's a wedding decorating genius! (Future brides take note!)

As the wedding neared and all the decor came together Jill and I couldn't help but reflect on how basically WE were responsible for this match made in heaven. Yes, that's right. We humbly take full responsibility for love blooming between Josh and Chelsea! It's beautiful really!  We are convinced that these two love birds would not be together (okay, that might be a bit of an overreaction but whatever...) if not for us, simply because just over a year ago as we were setting up for Girls Retreat Chelsea was again going on and on about this "Josh guy" and how gooorgeous he was and how perfect he was and how sweet he was...ya know...all those things girls think a guy is before marriage really begins! Ha! So, Jill and I, of course, jumped on the bandwagon and told Chelsea that she was going to have to make a move. Clearly, by how Chelsea was talking about Josh he was going to be snatched up by a single girl at any moment and so we gently nudged her to invite him to coffee...and by "gently nudged" I mean we ended up actually typing a text message to Josh in her phone and hitting send when she was to nervous to do so. In fact, I'm pretty sure she was clenching her eyes closed and burying her head in her hands refusing to look!

Anyway, the plan (this was Chelsea's idea...) was that Chelsea would "pretend" like she was interested in purchasing Herbalife products from Josh and ask to meet for coffee. We felt like Josh would see right through the "I want to buy Herbalife shakes" excuse to get together but that made Chelsea feel more comfortable so we went with it. Once the text was sent we all just sat there, not getting any work done, waiting for a reply to come through. Chelsea jumped every time someone's phone buzzed! It was hilarious, and I have to admit, pretty cute all at the same time.

Finally, FINALLY, Josh texted back and their "fake Herbalife meeting" was on! Coffee at Starbucks! Jill and I call this their first date. And like I said, we take full responsibility! You're welcome Chelsea and Josh! And you're welcome world!

Chelsea and Josh had the shortest engagement known to mankind but if anyone could pull it off it's them. They are such a beautiful and sweet couple. I was truly lucky to be a part of their special day. The ceremony was perfectly "Josh and Chelsea" with Chelsea crying through the entire thing and Josh comforting her. I can't lie, it makes an old married woman like me want to cry and throw up all at the same time! (Just kidding...kind of...) After the first introduction of "Mr. and Mrs. Josh Dunn" the wedding guests were ready to celebrate with upbeat line dancing! I begged Brandon to get on the dance floor and finally...he did! This is it people! Brandon on the dance floor. Take a good look because you'll probably never EVER see this again!

Chelsea and Josh have been living in wedded bliss for just over a month now. Actually, they haven't even begun wedded bliss yet as Chelsea has been living at camp for 3 out of those 4 weeks...but they'll get to the "bliss" part soon enough! Congratulations Josh and Chelsea! I love you guys! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful wedding and also a part of your lives. I can't wait to see what God has in store for you as a couple! (But you can stop being so perfect anytime now...!!!)
