When we arrived at Leonardo's it was still storming pretty good outside, so we started with the inside portion of the museum. Leonardo's is REALLY cool! One side of the museum is dedicated to space exploration exhibits and live animals, while the other half has everything from puzzles to painting to dress up and pretend play! Rae and I basically just followed the kids around allowing them to run from one exhibit to the next!
Ashtyn really enjoyed this exhibit where air was blowing through these tubes and you had to try and get the foam balls to stay suspended in mid-air over the tube! He got really good at it! Can you see the floating green ball?

This was really neat! It's a paper airplane launcher! You make your own paper airplane and then launch it through this machine at the target on the opposite wall!
On Maddox's first try, I made him a paper airplane and when he launched it it stuck in the ceiling! HA!

After space overload, we headed to the other side of the museum to play pretend! First up...grocery shopping!

Then on to the castle mazes...
and dress up!
We got stuck at the crazy mirror for quite some time! We just couldn't stop laughing!

After a couple hours, we took a quick break for lunch and ate at Sonic! Then the kids had a yummy dessert of suckers before heading back to Leonardo's to see if the sun had been out long enough to dry up the outdoor play area so that we could continue our day of fun!

YIPEEEEEE! When we arrived back at Leonardo's they had opened up the outdoor playzone! This is a really cool play ground that looks like a castle and pirate ship and a whole bunch of things wrapped into one! It has water features and large sand boxes and even dinosaurs scattered about!

As we all know, Maddox LOVES superheros and everytime he gets near a sandbox he likes to cover himself in sand and pretend he is SandMan! Today was no different...

"I AM SANDMAN!"

After leaving Leonardo's, we drove back to Oklahoma City and drove straight to Chuck E. Cheese! (Or Kuchie Cheese, as Ashtyn calls it!)

When we finally arrived at our house, there was a fun surprise waiting for the kids in the boys' room. In honor of Camp Cousin, we had put character sheets on each of the kids beds and placed a goodie bag on each of their beds as well. Ashtyn's bed is Transformers, Maddox's is Star Wars (of course!) and Elia's bed is Disney Princess.
"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

Camp Cousin 09...Same Song Second Verse
Well...day 3 of Camp Cousin felt quite a bit like day 2 when the dark clouds rolled in, thunder soon followed and before we knew it it was pouring! We had plans to go to Leonardo's in Enid, which is a hands on kids museum that is half indoors and half outdoors. As we ate breakfast and got ready, at Great Grandma's house, we just crossed our fingers and prayed that the rain would soon pass and we could still enjoy all Leonardo's has to offer!
