Today, Ashtyn and I ventured out JUST THE TWO OF US and went back to school shopping! First we hit the mall for some new clothes! (Ash desperately needed some jeans because when we pulled out all his jeans from last winter he had grown so much that they didn't even cover his ankles!) We stocked up on some sale items for fall and even a couple of winter hoodies and treated ourselves to a cookie! Then it was school supply shopping at Wal-Mart! OK...so I truly believe that schools should give you your school supply lists months in advance so that not every mom in town is crammed into three aisles at once!!! It was a nightmare!!! Luckily, every supply we needed was still in stock so we don't have to go back or search all over town for the EXACT brand of water colors that the teacher requested. Ashtyn picked out his own backpack and wanted a big boy watch to wear on his first day of Kindergarten! He's growing up WAY too fast. I still can't beleive that he starts school in just over two weeks! I don't know what I would do if it wasn't half day kindergarten. The other day I had a moment of insanity wherein I considered home schooling him. I knew that I wouldn't actually do it but I just want to keep him near me and protect him and always be there for him. He is excited, though, and I know he will do great! He loves learning! My friend Jill and I already have "first day of school" plans though to drop our kids off at school and then get together to eat krispie kreme donuts and drink coke icees! Hopefully it will help us cope...

2nd year in a row that his back pack pic is without pants on! LOL
I understand the "letting go" situation. Until you are a mom in that position, you just wouldn't get it. You invest YEARS into that little life and now you have to start sharing! It's tough. I think the donuts will help :) !
Buddy, you may be growing up way too fast...but you will have to try to work on the "keeping your clothes on" Ha, thought it was cute backpack in last picture was in underwear! Love, Noni
