"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

wacky world of winter
The only word I can think of to describe the weather we are having this spring is WACKY!!!! I'm pretty sure at this time last year we were setting up our swimming pool! This year, though, we are sitting in late April and we're still getting cold blasts, sleet and even a rogue ICE STORM!!!! What!? I guess you know you live in Oklahoma when a single load of laundry can contain both shorts and sweatshirts! Ha! This ice storm, that we had only a couple of weeks ago, was beautiful, yes, but still crazy. When the boys left for school I noticed just how crazy it was. You could hear the crackling of the ice on the trees and bushes as the wind blew and all of the branches were hanging to the ground. The next day you couldn't drive down the road without seeing branch after branch broken and falling into yards everywhere. I even saw a small tree uprooted and laying on its side! I was hoping after this ice storm I would be able to put the boys winter coats in storage for the summer but that hasn't happened. In fact, they are wearing them again today! Like I said...WACKY!!!!
