Our 5th day of Camp Cousin has arrived!!!! When visiting the zoo on a hot Oklahoma summer day is on your agenda that's all you plan for the day! Believe me! On this day, in particular, we were expecting some thunderstorms late in the afternoon so we told the kids they could each choose their top animal they wanted to see and we would try to make it to everyone's choice before we had to leave. Let's get movin'!!!!
I don't know how we were lucky enough to accidentally plan our zoo day on a day when the zoo had some extra activities set up around the grounds but we did! It was really cool! First we found a station where the kids each made their own sand art necklaces!
Ash chose a dolphin necklace and Maddox chose a penguin.
Next we found a glitter tattoo station! This was really cool! We had to stand in line for quite awhile and each tattoo took some time to do but it was well worth it! The kids loved their skin art and it even lasted through swimming later in the day! Ash chose a turtle and Maddox chose a lion.
Elia wanted to go to the petting zoo, Ash wanted to see the snakes and Maddox wanted to visit the monkeys. We were able to fit in everyone's choice before the clouds began rolling in. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take very many pictures on this trip to the zoo but believe me we had fun!
I don't know about my niece, Elia, but my boys choose the same animal to see every time we go to the zoo. Ash LOVES the snake house SO much! He actually gets frustrated when he feels rushed looking through each and every exhibit and reading each and every plaque about each and every snake/reptile. On this visit, I had to move slowly through the snakes with Ash while his brother and cousins made a much quicker trip of the snakes. Maddox, on the other hand, LOVES the monkeys. All of them! He could sit in the monkey exhibit forever just watching them. It never ceases to amaze me how different my boys are...even down to what animal they love at the zoo.
