"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

it's a birthday boy
Brandon turned 31 this year and to celebrate we went out with friends. In preparation for our date night I called our regular babysitter, Kaisha, and she agreed to come. When she arrived at our house she brought with her her boyfriend, Jacob, who also works as an intern for Brandon. They knocked on our front door and when Brandon answered they had a special birthday gift for him! Ha! They came armed with a 24-pack of Coke and a cluster of balloons to wish Brandon a happy birthday! If you look closely you will notice that the balloons don't really represent a "Happy 31st" but that's what made the gift so funny and so perfect. Among the balloons was a "Princess" balloon, an "It's A Boy" balloon and a balloon shaped like a toy dump truck! I love Kaisha and Jacob not only because they are great babysitters but because they are great friends too!
