While we were in Orlando, we noticed Ashtyn's fairly new glasses already had a crack in the frame! He had just gotten these glasses in July and so it didn't seem right that just over a month later they were already broken. We assumed that he had broken them on one of the many rides he went on or while rough housing with Maddox and Seth. We knew that when we got back home we would have to take him in and have his glasses fixed ASAP because school was starting. The weekend after Ashtyn's first day of school, Brandon took him back to the eye doctor so they could repair his frames. We were relieved to hear that it wasn't Ashtyn's fault his glasses were broken but, in fact, they were removing the frames he had chosen from their shelves because nearly every pair they had sold had been brought back with a crack in the exact same spot. Whew! You know what this means! We don't have to pay to have them fixed! Huge relief! The unfortunate part was that Ash had to pick out an entirely new pair of frames and while, yes, they would be free to us the process of picking out glasses with Ashtyn is NOT an easy one! He may be just a little bit indecisive! Brandon was patient, though, and before long Ash had chosen a new pair of frames that we actually like much better than his previous pair. They are more light weight and plastic instead of metal so more age, or maybe I should say little boy, appropriate. He can be more active in these without mom and dad constantly saying "watch out for your glasses!" When Ash first got glasses I felt kind of bad for him. Both Brandon and I have always had to wear glasses and it can just be a hassle for a little kid. But now, a year and a half later, I can't imagine Ash without glasses. They fit his personality and make him more himself.
