we took a goose home from the zoo!

OK...so Maddox is no longer afraid of zoo camp. This morning he was so eager to leave the house that I even thought to myself, can't he be a little bit sad to be leaving me?? But he was not!! He skipped out the front door carrying his little lunch box with a huge smile on his face waving goodbye to me. Sigh. Anyway, he had another great day at zoo camp but today he had a bit too much fun. The zoo called near the end of the morning and said that Maddox had had an "incident". They said he was fine but that he had fallen on the playground and hit his head on the concrete. When I picked him up his teacher explained that he had just tripped and fallen but that they had taken all the necessary precautions. They called zoo security to have him taken back to his classroom via golfcart (which Maddox actually thought was fun!) and had applied ice packs to his forehead. They even checked out his pupils to make sure they were dialating properly. I had to sign an incident report with them before I took Maddox home. Surprisingly, when Maddox came out of his classroom you wouldn't have even known he had had an accident if there hadn't been a HUGE goose egg staring back at you from his head!! He was all smiles and was just eager to tell me about his class! Hmmm. Only Maddox! Honestly, I would have been more shocked if Maddox had made it the entire week without some sort of accident but it was still a bit scary! Maddox bounced back really quickly though and is SO excited for zoo camp tomorrow. They are having a pajama party and so he gets to go to the zoo in his PJ's!! Hopefully tomorrow will be an "incident" free day...
