CC2011 Learning and Laughing

Here we go!! Camp Cousin Day #4 was going to be so much fun!! We started off the day with an early breakfast at I-Hop!! Auntie Rae was particularly excited about this breakfast because they don't have an I-Hop!! It was alot of fun to have breakfast out and not have to cook anything (or clean anything)!! During breakfast we may have gotten a little out of control with our silverware...I mean, if you can't hang spoons from your nose during Camp Cousin then when can ya!?!?

After breakfast, we went to Science Museum Oklahoma!! Ashtyn's absolute favorite thing to do at the science museum is the robot arms. It's a giant glass encased box with a variety of foam shapes and plastic balls inside that you use joystick control to move a robotic arm on the inside of the box and move the shapes and balls to build or stack or whatever you can get your robot arm to do. As soon as we walked into the museum, Ashtyn went STRAIGHT to the robot arm!!

We ALL took multiple turns in the tornado simulator!! It was kinda cold in there but alot of fun!!

Even the new little cousin got a turn in the tornado tunnel!! :) I doubt he or she will remember it though...!!!

Whoa!! Mommy is blowing away!!

Gramma Pennie won the "best tornado hair" award of the day!!

He didn't want to go at first, but Ashtyn and I went to our first planetarium show ever!! Ashtyn got a little bit  bored in the middle but overall he really enjoyed it!! At the end of the show the instructor gave each child their very own star gazer map and Ash was so proud of it!! He remembered what each constalation was called and his star gazer map is now hanging on our refrigerator. He says he wants to be a scientist and the older he gets the more I think that he actually will!!

I was SO excited when I saw that the science musuem had brought back the "Shadow Stopper" exhibit!! They used to have this when I was little and would visit the museum with my school but for some reason the exhibit has not been around for several years...but today we found it again!! When you go inside the Shadow Stopper you line up along a white wall and hold a pose until a bright light flashes in front of you. Then, when you move out of the way your shadow is literally frozen to the wall behind you where you were standing moments before!! It was awesome!! I was reliving my own childhood memories through my kids!!

You can't end any trip to the science museum without taking your picture in the astronaut cut out!!

I think today we literally spent more time in the science museum then we ever have at one time before!! The kids went from exhibit to exhibit taking their time to play and learn. It was a very nice day!! The last day of Camp Cousin 2011 is tomorrow and while it's gone super fast we're also beginning to feel the tiredness that comes along with camp cousin. Four days down...one day to go...
