Monday night we visited the boys' school for their open house!! This year they will both go to the same school since Maddox is starting kindergarten and Ash is going into first grade. They were both excited to see their classrooms, meet their teachers and drop off all of their school supplies! I think they had their back packs on before I was even dressed to leave!
Ashtyn's teacher is Ms. Cail. She is very bubbly, energetic and nice! I know Ash will have a great year! When we walked into Ashtyn's new classroom we found his desk, labeled with his name, and filled out some paperwork. Then Ash unloaded all of his school supplies and explored his classroom a little bit. It was kind of sad to be looking around a classroom with so many fewer toys then they had in kindergarten! :( My baby is growing up way too fast! Ash told his teacher that his favorite subject is math and she told him that they will get to do math EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! Ash was very excited!!!!
Maddox's classroom is just down the hall from Ashtyn's so I'm sure they'll get to see each other every now and then...which makes this mama feel better!! I'm hoping they'll even have lunch and recess together. Maddox's teacher is Mrs. Mahan! She is very friendly and you can tell she loves to teach! We found Maddox's spot at a round table where Maddox's teacher had placed each new student a little baggy of snacks! I think she won Maddox's heart right then and there! Ha! We had to fill out more paperwork and then Maddox unloaded his supplies too. I had to bribe Maddox to take this picture with his teacher but I know he's going to have so much fun in kindergarten and I know it'll only be a matter of days before he's in love with his teacher too!
It's going to be scary to drop both my boys off at school on their first day but the fact that they're so excited is easing my nerves a little bit. I just keep telling myself how much fun they're going to have and how much fun I'll have volunteering as much humanly as possible! In fact, the school might get sick of seeing me! Ha!
