Last week I took Ashtyn on a pre-back-to-school breakfast and shopping trip and this week it was Maddox's turn!! Maddox chose to go to McDonald's for breakfast. He ordered a sausage biscuit, bacon and a sweet tea but ended up eating half of my sausage burrito and only the top biscuit off of his breakfast sandwich! Ha! He said the sausage was "too hot". Oh well. He's quite the eating machine, though, and was taking bigger bites then me!! We talked about school but the conversation didn't go quite as smoothly as it did with Ash. At five, Maddox doesn't have quite the same attention span as his brother and so when I asked him what he is most excited about at school he just said "I don't know..." and would rattle off something about Star Wars or Bakugan. After asking him again, though, he finally told me he was excited to learn to read! Then I asked him what he was nervous about and he said "nothing" but added that he would "miss mommy and daddy and the wii...", you can't forget the all important wii!! After breakfast Maddox and I went to Target to buy some new jeans and underwear for school. Unfortunately, Target was out of nearly everything (I think we were a little late for the school clothes shopping) but we found a few pairs of jeans in Maddox's size and he chose the one that "felt the softest". He's so funny when it comes to clothes! Then, Maddox chose transformer underwear. I'm sure he'll love the fact that I shared that with everyone! I'm going to miss my boys so much as they go back to school and, as of right now, I'm not sure what my schedule or routine will end up being day to day but I'm excited for both of them and know that they will have fun at school and will come home each day with many stories to tell and many new lessons to share with me. I can't wait to hear each and every one!
