family fall festival of FUN!!!!

This weekend we had our Family Fall Festival!!!! We planned several fall themed activities and were really excited to spend the entire day together as a family!! First, we found some kids halloween tunes on my phone and Maddox showed us some dance moves (ha!) and then we got right to our fall fun!! We started by making caramel apples!! Mmmmmm!! The boys unwrapped all of the caramels and then dipped their own apples coating them in gooey goodness. I wanted my apple plain but the boys then dipped their sticky caramel apples into colorful sprinkles!!

While our apples set and cooled, we went on a nature walk around the block to collect sticks and nuts for an afternoon craft. We found TONS of sticks and thankfully we came across a yard with an acorn tree too...because we needed something other then sticks for our nature sign to look good! Ha!!

When we got back to the house, we used our sticks, tree bark, acorns and a few rocks to create a wooden nature sign displaying our last name!! It turned out really cute!!

Then to finish off our crafty afternoon, we painted miniature pumpkins to decorate our front porch!!

Ashtyn painted math problems on his...

and Maddox painted a variety of bakugan pictures!!

We took a time out from our Family Fall Festival to watch the Oklahoma State game and then we had a fall themed dinner. Our menu consisted of mummy hot dogs, eyeballs and swamp juice!! The mummy hot dogs are simply hot dogs wrapped in canned bread stick dough, the eyeballs are carrots topped with cream cheese and a sliced olive and the swamp juice is just red koolaide but the ice cubes in each glass have gummy worms and gummy fish frozen inside of them!! Creepy!!

We ended our Family Fall Festival with home made kettle corn (which was really hard to make and half was burnt...) while we watched a movie together. We had worn the boys out completely with our busy, fun day and by the end of the movie they were ASKING to go to bed!!!! The boys were asleep before we knew it and the house was quiet. We had such a fun fun FUN day!! I love spending time with my family!!

Great memories are better than wrapped gifts ... memories last longer!
