beware the Fine Arts Brain...

This year, I took on alot of the Fine Arts planning and data entry for the Oklahoma District. I love Fine Arts and actually when it is all said and done I had alot of fun helping coordinate Fine Arts this year, but I'm not gonna lie, IT...WAS...ALOT...OF...WORK...!!!! Yikes!! Not only did I go into the office and work hours on end but my living room was literally transformed into Fine Arts central for nearly a full month!! I had a printer set up on the coffee table, tubs of organized files everywhere and my cell phone rang non-stop with rule questions, performance time changes and venue needs. It was some form of organized chaos!! Something happened to me during those four weeks, though, that I lovingly named "Fine Arts Brain". I'm pretty sure my mind literally turned to mush toward the end and I started to do and say things that made almost no sense at all. I was calling people the wrong names, walking into rooms and forgetting why I was there and had so many sticky notes of phone calls and emails to return that I thought I'd never get through them all...one LATE night, I went to my microwave to heat a snack so I could continue working and when I opened the door I found this. Ha!! I had obviously put some tea into the microwave THE DAY BEFORE to cook and totally forgot it was there until I found it a FULL 24 HOURS LATER!!!! I just had to take a pic and text it to all my friends and Fine Arts co-workers!! They were laughing at me and I was laughing at myself but laughter was a better release then crying!! Ha!! Thankfully, now just over a week after Fine Arts, I think my brain has recovered...until next year that is...I'm sure Fine Arts Brain will be lurking deep inside somewhere just waiting to strike again!!

I wish my excuse could be Fine Arts!
