"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

the thought that counts
We had a very mild winter here in Oklahoma (we only even saw snow ONCE and it was the kind that was melted by dinner...!!! So sad...) and so spring has come early and been way warmer then normal. Now, I like spring but I'm truly a winter girl! I love the snow, drinking hot chocolate and bundling up for the cold weather! Oooooh! I'm getting excited just thinking about it! Hehe! But we're making the best of the weather we have and so since it's been getting so warm we've been spending alot of time outside. I guess, honestly, since it's already warm outside we're sorta scared that the summer is going to be HOT HOT HOT and so we're soaking up as much nice weather playtime as we can before it's so hot you can't even swim without nearly boiling to death!! Yikes!! (This is actually a real fear we have...) A couple of weeks ago, we were outside and the boys were playing while I sat on the deck reading. Suddenly, Maddox came up to me with a huge smile and a fistful of "flowers" for his mommy!! I was so very happy and my heart melted at the sight of him holding those beautiful flowers out to me. I didn't have the heart to tell him that his flowers weren't actually flowers at all but were in fact weeds. He was just too proud of his thoughtful gift! So, I of course put my flowers in water and enjoyed them until they wilted away days later. Love from my boys will never EVER get old!!
