"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

brew buddies
I think everyone has one, and mine is most definitely Maddox. You know what I'm talking about...the kid that always asks for a drink of your morning coffee! Whether I have a coffee from Starbucks or just Folgers in the home coffee pot, Maddox wants a sip. And he actually likes it! Recently, Maddox asked me if he could have his own cup of coffee. Obviously, I don't want him drinking a whole cup of coffee but I told him yes when I remembered how my mom used to serve me and my sisters coffee when we were kids. Instead of actually giving him coffee, I poured milk into his coffee mug about three-fourths full. Then I added a teaspoon of sugar and a dab of coffee, just enough to turn the concoction a light brown. Then I microwaved the brew until it was warm. Maddox was so excited and loved every sip! I know it sounds kinda weird, but being the only coffee drinker in our house I was kind of excited when Maddox took an interest and then drank his entire mug dry! I think we have a budding coffee addict on our hands...just like his mommy!
