summer is slipping away

Last Wednesday, we had Seth over for most of the day for a late summer play date. Our schedule and the Everaard's schedule haven't crossed very many times this summer. We were all going different directions at different times so we had to work in a swim day before school starts again and we get even busier. The boys swam most of the afternoon. This was one of those days when it was 110+ degrees outside and so the pool was pretty much the only place that offered any relief.

Seth is SO good with my kids. It's almost like having a baby sitter over when he's here. He keeps the boys busy and plays hard with them! When all the boys ran out to the pool this afternoon, they quickly "claimed" which floaty inner tube they wanted. We have three of them but one of them is pink so that when Elia visits she has her very own girly pool toy. So, when Seth was over Ash and Maddox quickly nabbed their blue and green floaties leaving only the pink one for Seth. I wasn't sure what was going to happen but Seth was so mature and so nice and just made a joke out of the whole thing. He grabbed the pink floaty, jumped right on top of it and stated "It's OK...pink is the NEW BLUE!!" Hahaha!! Seth is so witty these days and such a good example for my kids.

After swimming for several hours, the boys came inside for a movie and a snack. I made a huge bowl of popcorn and they snacked away. What a fun afternoon with best friends!
