"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

absence makes the heart grow sadder
My nephew lives WAY TOO FAR AWAY from me. I'm in Oklahoma, he's in Connecticut. It's just not acceptable! But there's nothing I can do about it (unfortunately...) and so all I can do is make the most of my time with baby James when I actually do get to see him. Over Christmas I took every opportunity I could to cuddle James, feed James, rock James, bathe James, clothe James...whatever it was, if I wasn't taking care of my own kids, I was doing it for James! Several times I had the honor of cuddling James while he slept. Love! There are no words to describe how it felt to hold a baby again and have him snuggle in tight and rest so peacefully. I love the way James' little fists curl into balls when he naps. I love his pouty lips and his dimpled chin. I could look at him all day. I hope the next time I see James he'll still be "baby" enough to cuddle with his Auntie for more naps.
