"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

super great gramma
My gramma got to meet her newest great grandson over the holidays! James may already be almost 4 months old but this was his first time to visit Great Gramma Anna! You can see the joy in gramma's face! It's hard to imagine living a life so full that you are able to see your children's children's children. We always joke that my gramma has "special baby powers" but all joking aside IT'S REALLY TRUE!!!! No matter what age they are and no matter their current mood when you take your kids to great gramma's house they are suddenly calm and quiet. All of our kids will sit with their great gramma and let her read to them. They flock to her! There are no video games at great gramma's house, no kids movies, legos or dress up clothes. There aren't even coloring books and there's definitely no swing set but all the cares of our kids seem to wash away the moment we step into great gramma's house and suddenly they simply want to sit near great gramma and listen to her read books from an era long since passed away. It's beautiful to watch and, honestly, is almost enough to force gramma to move in with us! Ha! I wonder what age you are when those special powers kick in...!?!?
