I absolutely LOVE when my kids fall asleep sitting up in the car. I know it's probably mean to say but when their little heads are bobbing up and down as they struggle to stay awake they just look like tiny angels in my backseat. There's something about having such a full and fun day that your kids absolutely CANNOT keep their eyes open that makes the moment just that much more memorable. I'll go ahead and admit that when my babies are dozing off in their car seats I spend way too much time peeking at them in the rear view mirror. I just want to memorize their tired faces, their chubby cheeks and their pouty lips. I never want to forget these days.
"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

dozing beauty
