a moment

There is nothing, and I do mean nothing, sweeter than walking down the hallway, peeking into your son's room and seeing both your boys playing together. Totally immersed, beyond distraction, no fighting. Many days as a mom leave you wondering how you can force your kids to get along and find you hoping and wishing and praying that nothing from this day will be what sends your kids to years and years of therapy in adulthood. Then there are these rare almost undetectable moments that restore all hope in your mommy skills. The moments that remind you you must be doing something right! I guess ultimately I'm glad these happy kid moments are so rare because then they truly are so very sweet. With boys these moments come and go in the blink of an eye and if you're not on the lookout chances are you'll miss them. So make sure when you see one you capture it so that when normal life returns and you're screaming things like "Don't sit on your brother's face!" and "You can't ride your bike naked!" you'll be able to remember that one fleeting moment. That moment that reminded you it's all going to be okay.
